Dr Shanker did his undergraduate and postgraduate training in India and then went and trained abroad in the highly reputed Royal London hospital, UK for two years under some of the most reputed surgeons in the world. Following this he went to Dublin, Ireland for further specialised training as a specialist Registrar/ Locum Consultant in the very busy National Maxillofacial Unit for a further four years.

He is a fellowship holder in Maxillofacial surgery from both the Royal College of surgeons of England and Ireland. ( FDSRCS in Dentistry/ Maxillofacial surgery is the equivalent of FRCS for Medical doctors). He has vast hands on experience in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery.

In addition to his own surgical hospital, he is also a visiting consultant to various leading hospitals in Madurai. He has also been on the postgraduate training faculty for maxillofacial surgery in India. He has numerous publications in both National and International journals. He has been an invited speaker for International conferences in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in both India and abroad.

Dr Aijitha Shanker has done both her undergraduate and postgraduate training in some of the most reputed centres and is a specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. ( Branch of dentistry dealing with straightening crooked teeth using clips/ braces). She has extensive experience and training in all aspects of Orthodontics and regularly treats complex facial deformity and cleft patients.

In addition to regular straight wire technique, she is also a certified invisalign provider. She is also well versed in Dentofacial orthopaedic techniques. She has a special interest in the treatment and correction of facial deformities and cleft lip and palate. She has also undergone specialised training in surgical orthodontics with an international faculty.

She has presented numerous papers in both National and International conference and has won the best paper award in a National Dental conference. She also has numerous national and international Publications in peer reviewed journals. She is also head of the Orthodontic teaching faculty in our centre and regularly trains both the dental and nursing graduates.
